CAMP HIMALAYAN SAGA, SARCHU

The Camp Himalayan Saga is located at Sarchu, 222 kms from Manali on the Leh highway. The camp is located on the main Sarchu camp grounds and was operated in year 2005 & 2006 with 25 swiss cottage tents. In year 2007 also the location of the camp would be same and would be operated with same number of tents.

25 Swiss Cottage tents: These tents are stitched out of canvas which is wind & water proof. The inside of tent has a lining of printed cloth. The tents have living area of 12 x 12 feet and attached toilet an area of 4 x 12 feet. The tents are fitted with twin beds and a chair/ table. The cot inside the tent is provided with a cotton mattress, pillow, bed sheet, polyfil quilt and a blanket. The attached toilets have specially designed western seat & wash basin fitting with running cold water. Hot water if required can be provided in a bucket (most of guests prefer not to take bath at Sarchu).

Dinning tent: The dinning tent has an area of 16 x 33 feet and is fitted with about 40 covers which can be increased incase of extra chairs required. We serve a choice of Indian/ Chinese/ Continental dishes (as per menu or preferred by group leader) and meals to groups are laid down in a buffet. Lunches are mostly packed and may consist of items as preferred by the guests. The dinning tent is served with our own kitchen managed by an experienced high altitude cook and attendants.

Electricity back up: Since, Sarchu does not have any electricity, our camp has own gen set which provides electrical power required. The gen set operates as soon as it gets dark in evening till the guests have their dinner & go to sleep in their cozy tents and again in mornings for departure.
