SPITI VALLEY WITH MANALI - 8 DAYS/ 7 NIGHTS TOUR

About The Tour: A 8 days/ 7 nights tour to the remote and unexplored Spiti valley in Trans Himalayan Region. This tour starts with a stay in Manali which has an alpine feel. From Manali we travel to Spiti valley which is one of the remotest & unexplored Trans Himalayan region of Himachal Pradesh. The tour involves visiting remote valleys, villages and crossing over high mountain passes providing spectacular views of picturesque snow capped peaks, rugged terrain and old monasteries. The tour offers ample opportunities to nature and enthusiastic photo lovers.

Highest Altitude gained: Kunzam Pass 4558 m

Places covered: Manali, Rohtang Pass, Kunzam Pass, Kaza, Ki Monastery, Kibber village, Pin Valley, Kungri or Gungri Monastery, Tabo Monastery, Dhankar, Lalung Monastery.

Operational period: 1^st June to 15^th September

Detailed programme:-

Manali/ Kaza/ Tabo/ Manali 

Day 01: Arrival Manali (own arrangement)

Arrive Manali on own and check in at hotel. Rest of day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: In Manali

Morning half day tour visiting Naggar Castle, Roerich Art Gallery (closed on Mondays) and few old temples in Naggar village. Afternoon half day city tour visiting Hadimba Devi Temple, Manu Temple, Tibetan Monastery and Vashisht Village. Evening free to explore Manali market. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Manali/ Kunzam Pass/ Kaza (202 Kms)

Travel by surface from Manali to Kaza over Rohtang Pass (3980 m) & Kunzum Pass (4558 m). Enroute also drive past some villages of Spiti valley like Losar, Hal and Ragrik. On arrival in Kaza check in at guest house. Overnight at guest house.

Day 04: In Kaza

Morning visit the Ki monastery, 12 kms from Kaza. This centuries – old gompa is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors – and at one time also acted as a fort. It houses valuable thangkas and offers a panoramic view of the area. Also visit the small gompa at Kibber, 9 kms further ahead. Kibber at 4205 m has the distinction of being the highest permanently inhabited village of the region. Overnight at guest house.

Day 05: Kaza / Pin Valley / Tabo

Travel from Kaza to Pin Valley, the land of Ibex and Snow Leopards. Visit Kungri monastery at Pin Valley. Continue drive to Tabo. Visit Tabo monastery. Founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images – and is often called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas”. The largest monastic complex in Spiti, the old section has 9 temples, 23 chortens, a monks chamber and a nuns chamber. There are several caves adorned with frescoes and contemporary structures too. In trans Himalayan Buddhism, Tabo’s sanctity is next only to Tibet’s Tholing gompa. Overnight at guest house.

Day 06: Tabo/ Dhankar /Kaza

Travel from Tabo to Dhankar gompa. This gompa rests high over the valley and is a stupendous example of local architecture. It is regarded to have once been a fort and was also the residence of the ruler of Spiti – the Nano. Also visit the Lalung Gompa. Continue travel onwards to Kaza. Overnight at guest house.

Day 07: Kaza / Manali (202 kms)

Travel back from Kaza to Manali enroute crossing over Kunzam Pass providing beautiful views of CB ranges and Rohtang Pass. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08: Depart Manali (own arrangement)

Check out of hotel. Later depart Manali on own for onward destination. End of tour & our services.

• Accommodation in mentioned or similar hotels on twin sharing basis (3 nights Manali, 3 nights Kaza, 1 night Tabo). Check in/ out time 12 noon

• All meals starting with dinner in Manali on day 01 till breakfast on day 08 (7 breakfasts, 6 hot/ packed lunch & 7 dinners)

• All transportation & sight seeing by a non ac Qualis/ scorpio with services of a driver as per itinerary

• All presently applicable taxes (service tax included)

All of the above rates do not include the following services as:-

Rail fare, air fare, any meals other than mentioned, transport to/ fro Manali, portage, guides, entrance fees to places of visit, damages/ claims of any kind, expenses of personal nature like tips, drinks, laundry, telephone calls etc. or anything not mentioned in above price include column

Payment & reservation terms: You can make reservations with us by advising us your acceptance of the tour and travel dates alongwith minimum of 25% of total tour amount. We would immediately proceed to make tentative bookings. All services would be kept on confirmed basis on receipt of full advance payments only. You can make payments by depositing cash/ cheque in our ICICI account (Account Name: Himalayan Saga, No: 635305000205). Once the bank intimates us about money being credited into our account we would immediately confirm all you travel arrangements and forward you travel documents/ service vouchers against which you would be provided rooms at hotel.

Cancellation & operational policy: Cancellation of minimum 25% would be charged of full amount on booking once made. Cancellation charges of 50% of total amount would apply for period less than two weeks and no refund if cancellation received one week prior to travel dates. If any part of package is not availed, refunds cannot be claimed for and neither is any part of package exchangeable with some other services. Incase extension of a tour is required, supplement as applicable would be paid directly to us by the clients.
