SPITI & KINNAUR VALLEY WITH MANALI & SHIMLA - 8 DAYS/ 7 NIGHTS TOUR

About The Tour: A 8 days/ 7 nights classical jeep safari tour to the remote and unexplored Spiti and Kinnaur valley in Trans Himalayan Region. It involves visiting remote valleys, villages and crossing over high mountain passes providing spectacular views of picturesque snow capped peaks, rugged terrain and old monasteries. From Manali we travel to Spiti valley over the high Rohtang & Kunzam Passes and visit some monasteries around in Spiti valley. From here we travel to the beautiful Kinnaur valley and also visit the famous Bhimakali temple ending the tour at Shimla. The tour offers ample opportunities to nature and enthusiastic photo lovers.

Places covered: Manali, Rohtang Pass, Kunzam Pass, Kaza, Ki Monastery, Kibber village, Pin Valley, Kungri Monastery, Dhankar Monastery, Tabo Monastery, Nako, Kalpa, Sangla Valley, Sarahan

Detailed programme:-

Manali/ Kaza/ Tabo/ Nako/ Kalpa/ Sangla/ Sarahan/ Shimla

Day 01: Manali/ Kaza (200 kms/ 10 – 12 hrs)

Travel by jeep from Manali to Kaza over the Rohtang Pass (3980 m) and Kunzam Pass (4558 m) enroute crossing Spitian villages like Losar, Hal and Rangrik. On arrival check in at Kaza Retreat or similar guest house. Overnight at guest house.

Day 02: In Kaza

Morning visit the Ki monastery, 12 kms from Kaza. This centuries – old gompa is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors – and at one time also acted as a fort. It houses valuable Thangkas and offers a panoramic view of the area. Also visit the small gompa at Kibber, 9 kms further ahead. Kibber at 4205 m has the distinction of being one of the highest permanently inhabited village of the region. Overnight in tents at Kaza.

Day 03: Kaza/ Tabo (48 kms/ 2 hrs)

Travel by surface from Kaza to Tabo enroute visiting Pin Valley, Kungri Monastery, Dhankar Monastery. On arrival check in at guest house. Evening visit Tabo Monastery which was founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images – and is often called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas”. Overnight at guest house.

Day 04: Tabo/ Nako/ Kalpa (195 kms/ 8- 9 hrs)

Travel by surface from Tabo to Nako which is located by the banks of lake. Visit the monastery and walk around Village. Later continue drive enroute viewing confluence of Satluj & Spiti rivers at Khab. Kalpa village is located in backdrop of Kinner Kailash mountain range. On arrival check in at hotel. Rest of day free to explore Kalpa village. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05: Kalpa/ Sangla (51 kms/ 2 hrs)

Travel by surface from Kalpa to Sangla enroute visiting Kamru Fort & village. On arrival in Sangla set up camp. Overnight in tents at Sangla.

Day 06: In Sangla

In picturesque settings and with interesting architecture, visit the village of Chitkul. Overnight in tents at Sangla.

Day 07: Sangla/ Sarahan (92 kms/ 4 hrs)

Travel from Sangla to Sarahan by jeep. On arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon visit the famous Bhimakali temple, regarded as one of the Shaktipeeths. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08: Sarahan/ Shimla (184 kms/ 6 hrs)

Travel from Sarahan to Shimla enroute visiting the hill resorts of Narkanda and Kufri. Arrive Shimla by evening. End of tour & our services.

Our rates on per person twin sharing basis to organize the above 08 days/ 07 nights Tour to Spiti & Kinnaur Valley valid from 10^th June to 30^th Sep 2010 would be as:-

All of the above mentioned rates include the following services as:-

• Accommodation in mentioned or similar hotels on twin sharing basis (2 nights Kaza, 1 night Tabo/ 1 night Kalpa/ 2 nights Sangla/ 1 night Sarahan). Check in/ out time 12 noon

• All meals starting with dinner in Kaza on day 01 till breakfast on day 08 (7 breakfasts, 7 hot/ packed lunch & 7 dinners)

• All transportation & sight seeing by a non ac Qualis/ scorpio with services of a driver as per itinerary

• All presently applicable taxes (service tax included)

All of the above rates do not include the following services as:-

Rail fare, air fare, any meals other than mentioned, any services in Manali or Shimla, portage, guides, entrance fees to places of visit, damages/ claims of any kind, expenses of personal nature like tips, drinks, laundry, telephone calls etc. or anything not mentioned in above price include column

Payment & reservation terms: You can make reservations with us by advising us your acceptance of the tour and travel dates alongwith minimum of 25% of total tour amount. We would immediately proceed to make tentative bookings. All services would be kept on confirmed basis on receipt of full advance payments only. You can make payments by depositing cash/ cheque in our ICICI account (Account Name: Himalayan Saga, No: 635305000205). Once the bank intimates us about money being credited into our account we would immediately confirm all you travel arrangements and forward you travel documents/ service vouchers against which you would be provided rooms at hotel.

Cancellation & operational policy: Cancellation of minimum 25% would be charged of full amount on booking once made. Cancellation charges of 50% of total amount would apply for period less than two weeks and no refund if cancellation received one week prior to travel dates. If any part of package is not availed, refunds cannot be claimed for and neither is any part of package exchangeable with some other services. Incase extension of a tour is required, supplement as applicable would be paid directly to us by the clients.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• Incase you would like to organize pick up/ drop by a private taxi or deluxe bus to & fro Manali or any services in Shimla same can be organized at extra costs. Please contact us for rates.

• At times in Kinnaur especially at Mulling, due to landslides the road may remain closed. In such case we have to use two set of vehicles. One set drops the guest on one end of Mulling, guest walks over the closed area and second set picks up the guest at other end. However, the above cost envisages use of only one set of vehicle. Incase two set of vehicles are used, extra cost would have to be paid.

• At times due to road blockade or landslide we may to alter the itinerary at the last moment or the day of journey also. In such a case any extra running of vehicle or expenses incurred in operating the changed tour, extra cost would have to be paid by the guest.

• Spiti & Kinnaur are Trans Himalayan regions and due to unforeseen circumstances like rain, landslides etc, the itinerary may have to be changed at last minute. Incase there are any last minute changes due to operational problems, there are no refunds or compensation associated with it.
